Judi Dench delves into the world of online dating

The world of online dating can be a weird and wonderful place and this short film starring Dame Judi Dench proves just that.

Originally released in 2011, the film has only recently become widely popular after appearing on Facebook.

The witty 12-minute short follows Judi’s character Mary as she and her friend Linda (Penny Ryder) try to navigate the rules and protocols of online dating.

Do you send the first message? Should you call instead? Who sent the first friend request? The ladies cover all this with wit and charm as Mary agonises over organising a date with Trevor (Philip Jackson), a man she met at Church.

The charming film is entirely relatable to anyone who’s ever tried online dating and best of all, has a happy ending.
