‘So much talent!’ Nicole Kidman shows off incredible singing voice in new video

As far as pure talent goes, Nicole Kidman is one of Australia’s best exports, having enjoyed a hugely successful career as an actress and more recently moving into producing, having founded her own production company Blossom Films in 2010. But the 53-year-old has another skill she doesn’t show off very often – she is an incredible singer.

The Sydney-born star has previously flaunted her vocal abilities on screen, including as Satine in Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge, and she wowed fans yet again this week after sharing behind the scenes footage of herself recoding the title track for her brand new TV series The Undoing.

Nicole uploaded the video clip to Instagram on Monday, which shows her singing ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’, and it’s safe to say her pitch was perfect. However the Big Little Lies actress admitted she didn’t initially jump at the chance to record the song.

“About a month before we’re about to lock picture, [director] Susanne Bier calls me and says ‘I’ve had an idea, I want you to record the title sequence’,” Nicole says at the start of the video. “I was like ‘Absolutely not’. And then she said, ‘You have to’ and then I went ‘Okay’.”

Fans couldn’t get enough of the video and heaped praised on the mother-of-four, with one writing: “Beautiful ! You’re singing this song perfectly!” Another said: “Beautiful voice! What cant you do?! So much talent!”

Another commented: “Wow!! Nicole…. you have a gorgeous voice!! I bet Keith is so proud of you!! Are there [sic] duets in the future for the loveliest couple in the world.”

While others admitted they’d recognised Nicole’s voice immediately upon watching the series which is currently streaming on Binge. “I could tell that was you when I was watching it great job,” one fan wrote.

The Undoing stars Nicole as successful therapist Grace Fraser and her devoted husband Jonathan (played by Bridget Jones’ Hugh Grant). “Exciting new drama tells the story of a woman whose enviable life begins to fall apart as her family finds itself reeling from a chain of terrible revelations following a violent death,” the synopsis reads.
