Air fryers are all the rage at present, with tips, hacks and recipes being shared widely online as home cooks get experimental with their dishes. Their biggest selling point is that they can be used to cook a range of foods and work by circulating hot air around the food to achieve a crunchy, crispy exterior, without the need to use an excess of oil.

While the handy appliances have been around for years, they have soared in popularity in recent months thanks to the sale of affordable options in high street stores such as Kmart, Big W and more. And now Bunnings Warehouse has embraced the trend and launched a selection of the appliances on its website.

Shoppers who have been unable to get their hands on Kmart’s cut-price air fryer model, or Coles’ recently launched appliance, can get their hands on a range of different models on the Bunnings website. The air fryers range in price from $118 to $329 and are currently available online. However they will not be stocked in Bunnings stores.

The cheapest model available on Bunnings’ website is the five-litre Healthy Choice Digital Electric Air Fryer ($118), which features a non-stick aluminium pot, eight cooking programs and a ‘keep warm’ function. There is also a 13-litre option from Healthy Choice for $167, which boasts six presets for meat, poultry, fish, bake, chips and pizza. It also comes with a baking cage, rack, tongs and chicken rotisserie.

The priciest option is the Phillips Air Fryer Twin TurboStar which will set you back a whopping $329. However the appliance claims to have a ‘large cooking capacity’, meaning it’s able to cook up to four portions of food at once. This makes it the perfect choice for anyone who regularly cooks for the family.

Last month, Coles hopped on the appliance bandwagon and gave German discount retailer Aldi a run for its money after with the launch of its air fryer oven for just $129 as part of the supermarket giant’s new fortnightly Friday Best Buys program — and it is $20 cheaper than Aldi’s 23-litre version, which is set to hit shelves today for $149.

Both Aldi and Coles’ air fryer ovens are stainless steel, feature oven-style shelves, and 10 preset cooking functions like bake, broil, roast, toast, heat and reheat, but Coles’ All-In-One Oven with Air Fryer goes a step further, boasting 1800 watt and a 25-litre capacity.

Canstar Blue also trawled the End of Financial Year sales recently to find the best value deals on air fryers. You can find those by clicking here.
