The iPhone 6 is set to be released in Australia within the next month or two, but the incredible technological advances have come at a price that will make it more difficult for the average person to happily head out and buy a new device.

However, Optus have got ahead of the game after losing a massive 126,000 customers to their biggest competitor, Telstra, last year and are making it very attractive for people to terminate existing contracts and sign up on a 24-month plan with them.

According to The Daily Mail, Optus has announced that they will offer new customers up to $200 discounts to their new contracts to cover the termination fee on their old ones with different service providers. This will be incredibly enticing considering the launch of the iPhone 6 shortly and the usual releases that follow an iPhone update.

But the question remains, is this enough to make us switch?

Providers, namely Telstra, have a much wider coverage base and a much more reliable service than others. Their plans are perceived as not as much value as options like Optus or Virgin mobile but it comes down to what you value. So what does the Australian population look for in mobile phone coverage and service?

It depends whether or not you want quality, reliable services or convenient and cheap prices…

So tell us, is this offer enough to make you consider changing service providers? Who are you currently with and how do you find them?
