Forget those kitten heels and comfortable flats, remember when our shoes to us to great new heights. Dangerous heights at that.
When you were wearing your bell bottom pants and funky jumpsuits, you needed to match them with platform shoes. Why not add a few inches to your height while you are at it?
Platform shoes were first made in the 15th century but fashion wasn’t on their mind. They were then created to simply avoid getting wet feet.
Then in the 70s (even back to the late 1960s) they became a mainstay in fashion, for both males and females, thanks in a large part to disco fever.
Forget the wet feet, you had more worry about getting a broken ankle in some of these styles.
