Four DIY treatments that will save your hair and your money

As we get older, our hair doesn’t just turn grey. With the loss of pigmentation in the hair, it also becomes drier, and unfortunately, thinning isn’t limited only to men. Yes ladies, you’ve probably noticed your own hair thinning too!

1. Dry hair

Mix together six tablespoons of olive oil and four tablespoons of honey, and apply to dry hair. Cover with a shower cap or cling wrap, and relax for around 15 minutes before washing off with your regular shampoo and conditioner. Enjoy your hydrated locks!

2. Brittle hair

If you notice your hair is breaking frequently, try mixing together two tablespoons of honey and 1/2 cup of milk. Carefully pour the mixture over your hair and allow to sit for an hour before washing as usual. It might be a good opportunity for a soak and a book in the bath!

3. Split ends

Split ends can prevent you growing your hair to the length you want. While it isn’t a miracle cure, try this: Mix two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of almond oil, and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Leave mixture on your hair for 30 minutes before washing as usual.

4. Frizzy hair

The new dryness is often accompanied by the dreaded frizz. Try mixing two tablespoons of honey, 1/2 a teaspoon of almond oil, and 1/2 a banana (mashed) and massage it through your hair. Let sit for 20 minutes, and wash as usual.
