Last year we published a couple of articles about what a “Real” Barbie would look like and contentiously some quite like the idea of a doll that doesn’t encourage anyone to grow up with teenage body issues. The maker of the doll, Nickolay Lamm, who 3D printed his prototypes last year to the proportions of an average 19 year old woman, is now crowdfunding the development of the doll and it is nearly at its target whereby it will become reality.
The doll is branded “Lammily” and claims to offer a doll that is created in the reality of real human proportions. Her branding is delivering the message “Average is beautiful”. So beautiful in itself.
On the Crowdfunding site you can buy a first edition Lammily doll hot off the release deck for $17US.
