The eye make-up tips that will solve those ageing problems

When was the last time you updated your make-up kit?

Our eyes are the first thing people notice when they look at our faces.

And according to Oz Beauty Expert’s Bonnie Gillies, the makeup you put on your eyes has the ability to make a huge impact.

A statement eye doesn’t have to be brightly coloured, it can be tonal and soft, Bonnie says. “The beauty of this statement eye is that it can be paired with any lipstick, and any outfit.

“Forget your traditional, heavily lined smoky eye, the statement eye of 2017 uses expertly blended shadows, loads of lashes and a perfect full brow to create a soft, smouldering, sexy eye.”

The hair and make-up expert, currently one of Priceline’s Beauty School experts,  shared these tips for statement eye-makeup specifically for the over 60’s.

Shimmer

Firstly avoid any shimmery eye products to create your statement eye. Shimmery products, or very light coloured products will accentuate fine lines and make eye lids look heavier. Stick to matte products to create your statement look. Try the Nude By Nature Natural Wonders Palette which has a beautiful mix of matte colours.

Conceal

Use a concealer with a radiance in it under the eye and across the entire eyelid before eyeshadow application. This will prime the eye, brighten and conceal darkness and heaviness. Try Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer.

Dust

By dusting an illuminate powder over the brow bone, just under the eyebrow once you’ve finished with your eyeshadow will make your eye look lifted and fresh. Try Australis High Life illuminate powder.
