The Duchess of Sussex looked effortlessly chic in a gorgeous black-midi dress for her first solo royal engagement in London on Tuesday.

Fitting into the royal family perfectly, Meghan seemed at ease as she attended the major historical event without either the Queen or husband, Prince Harry by her side, flashing a gorgeous smile for the cameras.

Stepping out for the Royal Academy Oceania Exhibition, the 37-year-old wore a stunning black Givenchy dress with sheer long sleeves, reported by The Sun to cost £2,510 (AU $4,566).

Fitting in at the waist with a chunky black belt, the classy frock featured a slit up one side, showing off her toned and tanned legs.

The Duchess chose to pair the dress with simple black heels and a black clutch, while she kept her gorgeous long, dark locks down and straight for the event at London’s Royal Academy.

Keeping jewellery to a minimum, Meghan opted for silver earrings that glittered through her gorgeous locks.

Getting a sneak peak of the exhibition, which displays current and historic art from the Pacific Islands, Prince Harry’s wife looked beautiful with a pink lip and a touch of bronzer.

The event is the first of its kind held in Britain and marks 250 years since Captain James Cook first travelled to the region.

It features an array of pieces from indigenous craftsmen, that are considered living treasures to many, and works by Brits who joined Captain Cook on his voyage.

The exhibition will officially open to the public on Saturday and will run until December 10.

Meghan’s latest outing is far different from that of the previous day, where she showed off her sporty side in a game of netball against Prince Harry.

The couple attended the Coach Core Awards at Loughborough University, in the UK, and Meghan didn’t hold back as she got stuck into a special netball masterclass.

Even more impressive, was the fact that she managed to get through the whole event in stiletto heels and a tailored suit, opting not to don activewear for the sporting occasion, while Prince Harry donned a suit with an open shirt.
