There comes a time when most parents begin to pine for grandkids, but if your own offspring are hesitant to procreate, a cheeky Danish video has come up with a solution.

The three-year-old, which recently resurfaced on social media, was made in an effort to boost Denmark’s ailing birth rate, and proposes that mums and dads send their kids off on holiday with their partners for a little alone time, and hopefully a romp between the sheets.

According to the advert, there’s nothing like a trip away to get the juices flowing and a holiday on mum and dad’s credit card could be just the push adult kids need to make time for a little baby-making session.

The rather-over-the-top video starts off with gloomy music and images of an elderly woman who seems to feel empty and sad without a grandchild by her side.

“There are still not enough babies being born, despite a little progress. And this concerns us all,” the announcer says. “But those who suffer most are perhaps the mothers who will never experience having a grandchild.”

The voiceover adds, “But when it comes to making grandchildren it might be a bit awkward to help out,” before showing the woman unfastening her son’s girlfriends’ bra.

The video goes on to show the girlfriend bursting out of a swimming pool in a small bikini and reveals that Danes are 51 per cent more likely to have more sex while on a tropical, romantic holiday.

“As you may already know, people have more sex on a sunny vacation,” the voiceover adds. “But what you might not know is exercise with your partner increases the sex drive even further because the brain releases endorphins.”

The tongue-in-cheek ad then finishes the scene showing the couple on the floor after an intense workout.

“Send your child on an active holiday and get a grandchild within nine months,” the ad cheerily suggests, before offering an “activity package” and a special deal for singles kids wanting to mingle.

While it’s certainly not the path most parents would take, it could be a good move for anyone out there desperate for the pitta-patta of grand-babies feet!

Bizarre or funny? What do you reckon? Do you have grandkids yet?
