Do you dread having to clean the dust off your venetian blinds? Fret not; this tip will help you give your blinds a faster and more detailed clean too.

Here’s what you need to do: Wrap your kitchen tongs with two microfibre dust cloths, one on each side, and secure with rubber bands.

Have two more on standby in case you need to swap them over.

Sometimes the dust can be pretty stubborn especially if the blinds are in an oily room, like the kitchen. If this is the situation, simply spritz on your favourite cleaner and wipe away.

If the cloth gets too dirty, swap them with clean ones and continue until you’re done.

You can also use unwanted socks to clean blinds by wearing them like you would a sock puppet. Watch this video to see how it’s done…

Whichever method you pick, the beauty is that you can toss both the cloth and socks into the washing. Easy!

TIP: If installing a new blind, don’t forget to ask your blind supplier. Sometimes they have blind-cleaning gadgets that can help you get the job done quicker.

Do you have blinds that need cleaning or do you use curtains instead?

Oh wow how brilliant is this! I have a similar gadget I purchased but it doesn’t work. Whoever thought of this has the mind of a genius. Thank you, you are going to change my life, well almost. 🙂

Only have Curtains, & Holland blinds in house!

Having to clean Venetian Blinds would be up there in ‘boring’ rating with oven cleaning, floor sweeping, mopping, ‘fridge cleaning, & really any housework, which I loathe, & detest.
Hence my having a ‘cleaning lady’ to do that for me!

Have no problems with washing, folding clothes, packing & unpacking mini-bench Dishwasher, & pressing clothes with my Elna Press, though!

    Works on ceiling fans, too!
