Whenever you move house or are given a new set of keys there is always the dilemma of adding them to your key ring. This usually involves a couple of minutes of trying to pry open two pieces of metal with your bare hands, some redness and sometimes, maybe some not so nice words…
Having moved house quite a bit I have been faced with this many times. I usually try and use a 10 or 20 cent piece to help pry open the sections but often that is just as difficult. When I finally get the key on there one thought always runs through my mind, “there has to be a better way to do this?!”
Well, thanks to the wonders of the internet I have found what looks to be an easy, foolproof way and I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of it earlier. All you need for this trick is a staple remover.
Simple hold the key ring in one hand and the staple remover in the other, use your staple remover to open up the sections. The sharp teeth of the staple remover easily get in between the two sections and the thickness of it allows plenty of room for you too slide your new key on – so easy!
Do you have a different method?
