Five things to do when you have a headache

Did you know a head massage can sometimes relieve headache pain?

No one likes a headache and that’s a cold hard fact.

A cold hard reality is that nearly everyone has a headache – some worse than others. To all the migraine sufferers out there, yours is not a situation anyone envies and on behalf of non-migraine sufferers, please accept our deepest regrets and apologies.

For the rest of us, these five fast headache remedies may just provide some relief:

1. Scalp massage

Give yourself, or get a scalp massage. Massaging the back of your head at the base of your skull can help relieve some of that pesky headache pain.

2. Peppermint Oil

This sounds a little far out, but apparently massaging peppermint oil onto your temples, the back of your jaw and your forehead could release some tension as peppermint oil has been shown to promote blood flow.

3. Ginger Tea

Drink a cup of ginger tea as ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that could help ease some pain.

4. Ice

Placing some ice to your temples or putting an ice pack on your forehead could seriously help that headache go away. Lowering the temperature of blood flow to your temple could relieve some throbbing.

5. Water/watermelon

Drinking water may seem like a no-brainer as most of know that a lot of headaches occur due to dehydration. Eating water-rich watermelon is also effective, if not delicious.
