Birthday celebrations in celebrity style

Some prefer to ignore the milestone, but birthdays traditionally bring a lot to celebrate.

After all, it’s a good excuse to get dressed up.

W Magazine has celebrated lots of birthdays at once, with a collection of images of the stars and the fabulous outfits they wore over the years.

Not only is it a lovely look down memory lane it is a reminder of just how much fashion has changed over the years, and what has not changed.

There is plenty of glitz from some of the younger celebrities but there is so much glamour to be seen too, such as when eternal fashion icon Sophia Loren celebrated her 21st birthday in Greece on September 24^th in 1956.

Here she is below celebrating her 80th birthday.

The W Magazine article shows there was lots of fun when Bianca Jagger “rode” into Studio 54 on a white horse for her 30th birthday bash in 1977.

They also show singer Diana Ross as she celebrated her 38th birthday in Beverly Hills, California wearing an all-black jumpsuit paired with a simple belt, pearls, and pumps with tights.

Not all the celebs are showing their classy side, but in the article even Princess Diana’s 22^nd birthday in 1983 showed a mature style worthy of royalty. 

Proving all types of fashion come back Supermodel Brooke Shields celebrated her 18th birthday party at L’Ermitage Hotel in Los Angles, California on July 13, 1983 wearing a leather skirt and white tank top, a trend that is very much back today.
