Super Juice for Health

May 21, 2013

Welcome to the world of juicing and raw food.  As former nurse, and now Naturopath and Juice Therapist people often ask me for the best recipes for good health.

Every fortnight I will sharing one of our remedial juice and raw food recipes with the Starts at Sixty Community and teach you a little about why you should be incorporating natural and raw foods into your diet.

Let’s start with the first recipe on our Super Food list.

The Good All Rounder – a great juice for over 60s

This fantastic combination juice helps maintain blood pressure, assist with liver function and constipation, as well as being a terrific antioxidant and anti-cancer agent.

  • 1/2 large pineapple
  • 2 apples
  • 2 silver beet leaves
  • 4 parsley sprigs
  • 1 curly kale leaf
  • 2cm wedge broccoli stem
  • 1 tsp powdered wheatgrass

Juicy Instructions

  • Simply place all ingredients into a juicer one by one except the wheatgrass. Add the wheatgrass to the juice and stir with a spoon. Enjoy.

Why this is good for you

This juice will give you a big boost. It contains several super foods including broccoli, silver beet, parsley and kale. In their raw natural state these vegetables are packed with vitamins, folic acid and iron, as well as simply bursting with chlorophyll. The apples are great for pectin and soluble fibre to help keep you regular.

Wheat grass is excellent to assist in keeping your system alkaline.
