Celebrate the unexpected benefits of retirement village living 6

View Profile

There are plenty of perks to retirement village living – but in the right community, these benefits can travel with you every time you step outside.

This Spring, Stockland is launching a new Benefits + program. This free membership gives residents access to a huge range of savings, services and benefits. To make life easier (and more affordable) Stockland has teamed up with a range of partners to provide residents with discounts on groceries, petrol, department stores, tickets, events and travel.

To celebrate the launch of this great program, Stockland is holding a series of Spring events across the country. The festivities include Spring garden parties, fashion shows, BBQs, tai chi and more. We’d love to extend an invite to you all to come on down and join in the fun!

You will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with residents, see what life is like in a village and learn more about the new Benefits + program.

Anyone is welcome, so if you’d like to come with a friend of family member, the more the merrier! There’s never been a better time to come by and see first-hand what it’s like living in a Stockland retirement community.

Starts at 60 Writers

The Starts at 60 writers team seek out interesting topics and write them especially for you.

  1. Why is start at sixty so hard to read now that they have put onto right hand side of page in very small writing. What did u change the original format. ???

  2. I would recommend Village life to everyone who likes meeting people and leading an active lifestyle as there are plenty of activities for everyone.

    Labor Lie
    Pension cuts

    The facts:

The age pension will continue to increase twice a year, every year, at the highest rate of indexation.

Since the election, the single age pension is up by $52 a fortnight and the married pension is up by $78 a fortnight.

New measures starting on 1 January 2017 will make the age pension fairer and more sustainable, as well as providing more help to pensioners on modest means.

Under these changes more than 170,000 pensioners with modest assets will have their pensions increased by an average of $780 per year ($30 per fortnight).

No one currently on a full pension will lose a dollar from these changes, and there will be 50,000 more people on a full pension as a result of these changes.

Nine out of ten pensioners will be better off or have no change to their payments under this measure.

  4. Most of my friends have decided they cannot live in these “villages” because of ongoing costs! So perhaps the cheaper benefits might offset those!
