Man, 60, charged with murder after ‘wife found with stab wounds’

A 60-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman, believed to be his wife, was found with stab wounds before sadly passing away.

New South Wales Police confirmed in a statement that they were called to reports that a woman been stabbed in Randwick, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, at around 8.45pm on Saturday evening.

On arrival at the scene, officers from the Eastern Beaches command found an unresponsive 47-year-old woman, with the Daily Mail reporting that she was found outside of the Prince of Wales Hospital, close to the emergency department.

Paramedics tried to revive the woman, who has not yet been identified, but she died at the scene.

“A man has been charged with murder after the death of a woman in a domestic-related incident at Randwick overnight,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

“A 60-year-old Panania man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station.

“Following inquiries, police charged the 60-year-old man with murder.”

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday).
