One uncle has gone above and beyond to cheer up his six-year-old niece after she recently got glasses and wasn’t very pleased with her new look.
Stephen Black shared an adorable image of his niece Olivia in her new pair of glasses looking rather upset. He explained that she wasn’t happy with the development and asked fellow specs wearers to help him out.
“My 6yo niece Olivia had to get glasses today,” Stephen captioned his sweet tweet. “She’s nearsighted like her Uncle Stephen, so she will wear them all the time. As you can see, she wasn’t thrilled. Can fellow glasses wearers show her some love? I will read her all the responses.”

The tweet received a flurry of likes and comments and fellow tweeters obliged by sharing photos of themselves or their children (and pets!) in glasses.
One commentator said her two-year-old daughter got glasses this year too.
“Hi Olivia! This is my 2 year old, Avery,” @shelbylynnna wrote. “She had to start wearing glasses this year too. She didn’t like it very much at first, but now she loves them! They’re my favorite accessory of hers, and yours are perfect for you!”

Another tweeter explained the delights of glasses for shopping fans.
“Glasses are so cool and so much a part of my identity that I wore mine on my wedding day,” @ohhollygosh wrote. “You look great in yours Olivia and it’s another cute accessory you get to shop for when you fancy a change.”
@NewsForLeft added: “My glasses are my trademark. Without them I’m just some dude, with them I’m a star!”

@Monstert23 shared a cute pic of his eight-year-old son wearing glasses, writing: “Here’s a pic of my little guy, 8 yrs old. He’s been wearing glasses since kindergarten and has always been one of the coolest kids in his class. His glasses don’t define him, they just help him see better! She looks beautiful!!”

This got us thinking about who else looks great in glasses, and as it turns out a lot of celebrities do!
In fact, singing legend Elton John is never seen without his over-the-top spectacles – even though he reportedly only started wearing glasses to copy rock’n’roll icon Buddy Holly, not because he needed them.
Meanwhile, blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe rocked a pair of cat’s eye frames in the romantic drama How to Marry a Millionaire (1953).
And who can forget John Lennon’s distinctive glasses? While he wore contact lenses during most of his time in The Beatles, the English singer’s wired specs became his trademark.
These days, the ever-stylish Meryl Streep is sports a variety of trendy glasses. Earlier this year, the American actress stepped out in a beautiful blue floor-length gown to attend the Venice Film Festival, but it was her leopard-print glasses that really stole the show.
