Jackie Kennedy’s younger sister Lee Radziwill died age 85 at her home in New York City on Friday.

Radziwill had suffered from age-related disease in recent years, but was still in good health, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Her cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Born in 1933 as Caroline Lee Bouvier, Radziwill was an American socialite, PR executive and interior designer. After an unsuccessful acting career Radziwill worked as an interior decorator with numerous wealthy clients. She was also a public relations executive for Giorgio Armani.

Radziwill married three times and had two children. She was first married to publishing executive Michael Canfield, then to Polish Prince Stanislas Radziwill and finally to film director Herb Ross.

Following the news of her death, Mathilde Favier, who works at fashion designer Christian Dior, described her in a tribute posted on Instagram as “the most elegant and tasteful lady on Earth”.

“Sad Saturday morning news: Lee Radziwill just passed away. A page is gone,” she began. “She, being great friend with my uncle Gilles, introduced me to the father of my kids, she witnessed our wedding, we gave her first name to our daughter Heloise-Lee.”

She continued: “She was tough and severe, but she was also sad and lonely and certainly one of the most elegant and tasteful lady [sic] on earth, always so keen on details and knowing to adapt herself to any circumstances. She teached [sic] me a lot. #RIP.”

Radziwill’s son Anthony died in 1999 from cancer. She is survived by her daughter Anna and her daughter-in-law Carole, author and former television personality on the program Real Housewives of New York.
