Bindi Irwin pays tribute to brother Robert with adorable throwback photo

Bindi Irwin has paid tribute to her supportive brother Robert with an adorable family throwback photo as she continues plans for her special day.

Just days after announcing her engagement, the “Crocodile Hunter’s” daughter explained how happy she was to have Robert take on the role of walking her down the aisle in her upcoming wedding to fiance Chandler Powell.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday Bindi explained how proud her late father Steve would have been of her brother and how he has supported her over the years.

“Dad, you would be so incredibly proud of Robert,” Bindi wrote alongside the gorgeous photo. “He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter.

“I know you’d be beaming with pride when the time comes that he walks me down the aisle. I wish you could be here for these moments, but I know that your spirit lives on in us.”

As well as paying tribute to her sibling, Bindi posted a photo from her childhood with her late dad Steve looking every bit the proud father.

An adorable Bindi could be seen sticking a big thumbs up for the camera, while little Robert perched happily on his dad’s knee. Beside him knelt Terri matching in pink with her daughter.

Fans were quick to comment on the post with many announcing how happy they are for the family.

“There is no doubt in my mind your dad’s famous enthusiasm is entwined within each moment in the lives of the wonderful children he and Terri created,” one person commented on Instagram. “Pure loving bliss.”

“‘When he walks me down the aisle,’ ouch my heart,” another wrote.

While a third said: “I’m so emotional right now. Your dad’s work was a huge part of my childhood. He would be so proud of you and your family. Congratulations on your engagement! Your dad is smiling down on you.”

The post comes days after Bindi’s exciting engagement announcement on social media as she revealed her boyfriend of six years had gotten down on one knee as she marked her 21st birthday among family and friends at Australia Zoo.

“On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a stunning series of photos from the proposal.

She continued: “Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness.

“I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!”
