Princess Mary rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to fashion, and the Danish royal’s latest outfit choice was no different as she stunned crowds in a hot pink dress.
The 46-year-old Crown Princess of Denmark was recently voted one of Australia’s best-dressed women and it’s easy to see why, as the stunning royal stepped out wearing a figure-hugging fuchsia frock at an official event in Copenhagen on Thursday, in honour of her beloved husband.
Accompanied by her family, the Tasmanian-born princess attended the unveiling of a new portrait of her husband Crown Prince Frederik II, which has been painted by renowned Australian artist Ralph Heimans in honour of the heir to the throne’s 50th birthday on May 26.
The mother-of-four looked sensational in the flattering A-line dress which featured balloon sleeves and a pleated hemline. She completed the look with a sophisticated pair of black T-bar stiletto heels and kept her hair simple in classic loose waves.
In a post on Instagram, the Danish Royal Family said: “On the occasion of the 50th birthday of the HKH Crown Prince, the HM Queen and Crown Prince family participated today in the disclosure of a new portrait of the Crown Prince at the National History Museum at Frederiksborg Castle.
“The new portrait of the Crown Prince is painted by Australian-born visual artist Ralph Heimans and shows in the background Havesalen at Fredensborg Castle.”
Heimans, from Sydney, has painted several members of the world’s royalty including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. He also painted a portrait of Princess Mary herself, which was unveiled back in 2006.

Princess Mary has been showing off her impeccable sense of style all week as she attends a series of events planned to celebrate Prince Frederik’s milestone birthday. She looked radiant when she appeared alongside her husband in a bridal white lace gown on Wednesday in the Danish city of Aarhus.
The Danish royal family were rocked by tragedy earlier this year when Prince Henrik passed away in February at the age of 83. Queen Margrethe’s husband was diagnosed with a benign tumour two weeks before his death and had been hospitalised following an illness that began during a visit to Egypt.
