Princess Mary stepped out in a gorgeous blush-pink ensemble to open a new hospital in Slagelse, Denmark, on Tuesday, looking in high spirits as she greeted crowds in the small town as fans waved Danish flags and offered her flowers.

The 46-year-old, who is married to Crown Prince Frederik, was very pretty in pink, dressed by local label Elise Gug in a pale pink skirt, white blouse and snakeskin heels by Gianvito Rossi. The mother-of-four completed her ensemble with a pink, feather-covered hat.

The Tasmanian-born princess gave the new hospital the royal seal of approval by cutting a red ribbon to declare it officially open.

On Monday, Mary shared a sweet moment with her oldest son, Prince Christian, at the 78th birthday celebration of Queen Margrethe.

Dressed in vibrant red, the princess was joined on the balcony at Amalienborg Castle by her four children, Christian, 12, Josephine, 10, and twins Vincent and Josephine, seven. Prince Henrik was reportedly unable to attend due to a trip to Greenland. At one stage her and Prince Christian shared a joke, with the cameras catching the mother and son smiling adoringly at each other.

It was the Queen’s first birthday since her husband Prince Henrik passed away in February this year. Henrik was diagnosed with a benign tumour two weeks before his death and had been hospitalised following an illness that began during a visit to Egypt.

The prince battled poor health for years, and was stricken with dementia. He died in his sleep surrounded by family.
