‘I wish things could be different’: Samantha Markle apologises to Meghan

She’s arrived in London reportedly to confront her half-sister Meghan about their ageing father, but Samantha Markle has given a shock interview on British TV, apologising to her sister and Harry, saying: “I wish things could be different”.

Appearing on Jeremy Vine, Samantha, 53, who wasted no time in stirring up royal trouble after landing in England, said she was visiting the UK to “hopefully move forward with peaceful resolve”.

The Duchess of Sussex and her sibling have had a strained relationship for years, made worse when Samantha publicly slammed Prince Harry’s wife ahead of their wedding earlier this year.

The British host asked Samantha why she had been insulting to Meghan, having called her Cruella de Vil, Duch-ass and the Duchess of Nonsense.

“[My father] was being purposely ignored. We were hoping that private channels would be used,” she explained. “When they failed we went public.”

Thomas Markle, 74, missed his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry in May due to health problems.

Vine then accused Samantha of wanting to “shame” her half-sister after not being invited to the royal wedding. 

However, Samantha insisted she was protecting her family, adding: “The public were making a mockery of the family and it had to stop. Perhaps I was frustrated. I was lashing out more at the media.”

She then apologised to Meghan and the royal family, before praising Prince Harry. “To my sister, absolutely, and to Harry as well and the royal family. He is such a gentleman and so savvy and I would say that she (Meghan) has found her prince.”

Earlier this month Samantha hit out at her half sister and her brother in law Prince Harry, slamming the royal couple for not reaching out to Meghan’s dad on his birthday.

“Happy Birthday Harry! As you ‘Mack down’ on your birthday cake, think about the birthday wishes you never extended to your FATHER-IN-LAW.” she wrote on Twitter. “The DUCHASS should be humane to our father who has given her everything and this media crap can stop!

“He was the one who was always there for her. Fake waves and smiles can stop. The duchASS can bow to the daddy.”
