The funny side of life in your 70s – with comedian Denzo Moore

One of the standout acts in our recent search for Australia’s Funniest Boomer was Denzo Moore, who picked up the runner-up spot at our inaugural Starts at 60 Comedy Festival.

Click “play” above to watch his blisteringly funny five-minute set.

After more than a quarter century in the entertainment industry, the seasoned Gold Coast comedian is a familiar face on the Brisbane standup scene, and is very well-versed in the funny side of ageing gracefully (and sometimes disgracefully).

“If you’re happy and you know it when you’re 70 or over,” he quipped, “that means your meds have kicked in.”

Denzo had the Sit Down Comedy Club audience in stitches with his observations on millennials vs boomers, taking the wrong medication, the time-honoured dog/leg relationship, senior discounts, online dating in your 70s, and the importance of carrying spare undies (if you know, you know).

Denzo joins winner Raelyn Flatters and eight other national finalists who can proudly claim to be among ‘Australia’s Funniest Boomers’. Stay tuned to our daily newsletter for more performances from this hilarious, honest and enormously uplifting evening.
