A week after welcoming their new daughter into the world, Zara and Mike Tindall have finally revealed the name of their baby girl. And, like many children in the royal family, the newborn’s name is a nod to another member of the royal family.
Paying a very sweet tribute to her beloved grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, Zara and her former rugby player husband have named their daughter Lena Elizabeth, according to Nine News. The arrival of little Lena makes Zara’s mother Princess Anne a grandmother for a fourth time, while she is Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s seventh great-grandchild.
It is reported the name is pronounced “Lay-na”, with the latest royal arrival said to be 19th in line to the throne.

She is also the second child for Zara and Mike, who welcomed daughter Mia into the world four years ago. It also means some of the younger royals will have someone new to play with, as Lena is the second cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who was also born this year.
Buckingham Palace announced the arrival of Lena last week and confirmed she was born at the Stroud Maternity Unity, weighing 4.2 kilograms.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr Philip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news,” the Palace said in a statement.
Zara and Mike first announced they were expecting back in January. It comes after Zara suffered a miscarriage in 2016.

“Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby,” the Palace confirmed at the time. “At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy.”

Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband Captain Mark Phillips. She’s an accomplished equestrian who won a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012. Meanwhile, Mike is the former captain of the English rugby team and was a member of the team that took home the World Cup in 2003.
The arrival of Lena comes just two months after Prince William and Duchess Catherine welcomed their third child Louis.
