Even though this festive season won’t be the same big, public event that the royals are used to, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen to maintain one special tradition to end 2020, and that’s their annual family Christmas card.

Each December, the photo gives royal fans a glimpse into their home life and this year was no different, with the sweet snap showing the family of five huddled together on top of a bale of hay in front of a background of chopped wood.

And, of course, the three youngsters looked absolutely adorable, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte looking more and more like their parents every day. Prince Louis’ laughing face really stole the show, and Prince William and Catherine looked picture-perfect as usual.

The wintery photo saw all five wrapped up in their warmest jumpers, which is a slight change from the autumn-inspired shot last year that saw the royal couple sitting outside under a tree with the kids playfully arranged around them.

The newest photo was leaked to social media on Saturday but hasn’t yet been officially posted to the Kensington Royal Instagram account.

Fans were excited to see the newest edition of the annual tradition, with many gushing over the photo in the comments. One commenter wrote, “The Cambridges are killing it this year!!” While another said, “Beautiful family picture … children are adorable!!! Love y’all!!”

Meanwhile, as the kids get older, commenters have started giving their two cents as to who they think the youngsters are starting to look like. One said, “I think little Charlotte looks like the Queen!” While another wrote: “Well George looks like the King George!!!”

The photo reveal came just days after the kids made their very first appearance on the red carpet for a special pantomime performance in London. The family strutted the red carpet together, all holding hands, with Princess Charlotte looking gorgeous in a tartan dress and stockings, Prince George in a striped jumper and an adorable Prince Louie in a blue button-up jacket.

The family posted photos to their official Instagram account saying the event was held to thank key workers and their families for “phenomenal efforts this year”. Before the performance, the duke delivered a short speech of thanks and then during the interval he and the duchess met the cast and crew and spoke to key worker families who had struggled this past year.

Never ones to slow down – even during the holiday season – the duke and duchess had only just arrived home after their big royal train tour, which saw them cover about 2,000 kilometres in just three short days.
