It’s very rare to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with all three of their children – especially rarely-seen youngest son Prince Louis.
But the royal couple have treated the world to one of their most charming photos yet as they joined the rest of the royal family in releasing their Christmas card photos for 2018.
The first in the series of snaps showed the whole family huddled together in an informal autumnal photo, sat together on a tree trunk in the countryside at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk.
Catherine cradled youngest son Louis – who is now almost eight months old – in her arms as he looked straight at the camera and flashed a small smile.

Beside them, Prince William sat down with an arm around his three-year-old daughter Charlotte as she flashed her signature smile to the camera, while her older brother Prince George made a rare appearance in trousers this time, (instead of his statement shorts), and held loving arms around his father’s shoulders.
Each member of the family opted for comfort for the natural snap, with Catherine wearing tight blue jeans and a loose jumper.
Charlotte was dressed in a sweet navy blue cardigan that is thought to have once belonged to George. It’s not the first time the kids have shared clothes, and Catherine often features each of them borrowing each other’s wardrobes in official photos.

In fact, Charlotte previously wore the cardigan in the first photo of her kissing newborn Prince Louis shortly after his birth this year.
While William wore a chequered blue shirt, little Louis matched in a lighter blue jumper while George co-ordinated with his mum in green.

Elsewhere, their grandparents Prince Charles and his wife Camilla released their own festive photo for their card this year – and it showed them sharing a very loving moment together.
The couple were seen sat together on a bench in their Clarence House garden gazing at each other and smiling.
Unlike their younger family members, the couple were dressed up as if they were attending an official engagement with Charles in a smart suit and tie, while Camilla opted for a stunning cream dress and her favourite pearl necklace with a huge jewel at the front.

Another photo, released on each of the royal family’s official Instagram pages, showed their finished Christmas card this year – with a message from the couple reading: “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”
The photo was actually taken in summer when the couple enjoyed a short moment together away from the rest of the family.
They opted for a more formal photo for their 2017 Christmas card, showing just their heads as they stood side by side and smiled at the camera.

This time, Charles appeared in a bow tie and tux while Camilla opted for a v-neck light blue dress and jewelled necklace.
