The eldest son of Denmark’s Princess Mary and Prince Frederik has returned to the public eye for the first time since he was diagnosed with Covid-19 just two weeks ago.

It had been revealed via the royals’ offical Instagram account on Monday, December 7, that Prince Christian, 15, caught the virus after there was an outbreak at his high school.

In the new clip, which was also posted to the social media account, Christian, who’s second-in-line to the Danish throne, appeared alongside his parents Prince Frederik and Princess Mary and his siblings Princess Isabella, 13, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, nine, to mark the fourth Sunday of Advent. Prince Frederik celebrated the day by lighting the fourth and last candle on the wreath before Christmas arrives.

Under the post, the caption that was written in Danish read, “The Crown Prince’s family sends a Christmas greeting from home in Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg.”

After wishing everyone a “happy Christmas”, the video then gave fans a rare insight into their sweet family dynamic as they retired to their dining room table to enjoy a cup of tea together.

Commenters gushed over the post, with one writing, “Thank you so much for this nice Christmas greeting. A really merry Christmas and a bright and happy new year to the whole family.”

While another said, “Wonderful Christmas greetings from you. Would like to be allowed to send you dear Crown Prince family an extra Christmas greeting, now you sensibly stay home this year like so many others. Have a nice Christmas together.”

The prince was looking healthy and happy after recovering from the virus, which forced him and his family to isolate in the palace at the beginning of the month.
