Love is in the air! Prince Charles and Camilla release sweet 2020 Christmas card

Christmas is nearly here and that means it’s time for the royals to start sending out their Christmas cards to a lucky few recipients. While not everyone is fortunate enough to receive a personalised message from the family, the royals do share a photo of their cards with the public each year much to the enjoyment of their fans.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall released their 2020 effort on Wednesday in the UK, posting the snap to their official Clarence House Instagram page.

The gorgeous photo shows Prince Charles and Camilla sitting on a bench surrounded by a stunning array of flowers in the garden at Birkhall, the couple’s home on the Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland. The jovial pair look happier than ever with Prince Charles seen gazing over at his wife as she smiles for the camera.

The photo was posted with the caption: “Here is this year’s official Christmas card from The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The photo was taken in the garden at Birkhall, Scotland.”

Commenters were thrilled to see the sweet snap, with one writing: “Lovely as always.” While another noted how genuinely happy the pair looked in the photo.

Meanwhile, another royal fan complimented the stunning garden that can be seen in the background of the shot, saying: “Such a nice picture, and the garden is beautiful! And I love the bees and butterflies on the flowers.”

The sweet photo came after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had their annual Christmas card photo leaked on social media. It showed the family of five sitting together on a bale of hay in front of a pile of chopped wood.

The wintery snap was officially posted to their Kensington Royal Instagram page on Wednesday (UK time) with the caption: “The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new image of their family, which features on their Christmas card this year.”

The photo gave the public a rare insight into the sweet family dynamic with Prince George and Princess Charlotte smiling sweetly for the shot, while a young and cheeky Prince Louis was seen laughing at something behind the camera.

Commenters gushed over the picture-perfect family with one writing: “I can’t believe how big the kids have gotten they are so cute.”

While others noted the comparisons between the children and their family members. “Louis looks like Kate’s father. Oh my the kids are getting so big now!” commented one fan. Meanwhile, another royal fan noted how there could be a mini-monarch in the midst, writing: “Charlotte looks just like the queen.”
