In the face of recent health challenges plaguing King Charles III and Princess Catherine, Princess Anne continues to exemplify her rock-solid sense of duty, a royal commentator has said.

Following a flurry of activity by the Princess Royal in recent weeks, royal commentator Gertrude Daly, has praised Princess Anne for “keeping calm and carrying on” in the absence of King Charles and Princess Catherine.

The British Royal Family has had an extremely difficult start to the year amidst the cancer diagnoses and treatment for both King Charles and Princess Catherine, causing them to step back from their royal duties.

In their absence, Princess Anne resolutely continues to serve her country and subjects with her unwavering sense of duty.

Daly spoke exclusively to GB News about the important role that the King’s younger sister plays.

“Princess Anne has always quietly done royal duties without much pomp and circumstance,” she said.

“She is the person who does the meat and potatoes of royal duties. The person you send when who you send isn’t too important.”

“Princess Anne has mostly just been keeping up with her own schedule of official engagements. But there have been some events like Investitures that Princess Anne has taken over that would usually be shared with King Charles and Prince William.

“I think Princess Anne is doing what she has always done throughout the ups and downs in the royal family, which is keep calm and carry on.”

Princess Anne’s practical attitude towards her duties was noted when she was recently spotted planting a tree in Northern Ireland.

When offered a small shovel to complete the job she instead opted for a much larger one to get it done properly.

Her many online admirers were quick to applaud her no-nonsense approach to the task.

“Best of the bunch,” one wrote.

“She is truly a jewel for the RF. I see so much of her father in her.”

“I love Anne, she would have made a great Queen.”

“Fantastic, I love her,” commented another.

“Lovely and practical!”

“The Princess Royal knows her stuff.”

Last year, Princess Anne received considerable praise from around the world when it was revealed she was Britain’s hardest-working royal. She carried out 457 royal engagements at the time, 32 more than her brother King Charles.

This year however, concern started to grow that having to shoulder the burden of royal responsibilities, especially in the absence of Charles and Princess Catherine, was beginning to take its toll on the Princess Royal.

Speaking to Sky News Australia recently, her son, Peter Phillips, highlighted his mother’s commendable work ethic and lauded her for her ability to find balance between her duties and her home life.

“Her mindset is, ‘listen I can go in do what we need to do and come back’,” he told the Sky News Australia host.

“She really values her home time and values her time with Tim and the family and the dogs and the horses and that’s a really important part of the structure of her week.

“To be able to actually relax and just get to some form of normality.”
