Prince Harry is being ‘pushed into the background’ by Meghan Markle, royal commentator claims

While a fair bit of criticism has been levelled at both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over their recent Nigeria trip, one royal commentator has shifted her focus solely on Meghan, slamming her for overshadowing Harry.

Meghan announced she would be making the trip to Nigeria after an genealogy test revealed that she was 43 per cent Nigerian.

While Meghan has good cause to visit the country, royal commentator Ingrid Seward has accused the 42 year old making “everything about her” during the visit, particularly as Harry was there to there to promote the Invictus Games.

“This was Harry’s show. This was for the Invictus Games. Nigeria is the first African country to join the Invictus Games,’ Seward told GB News.

“And it was Harry’s show. And yet, Meghan seems to take over.

“She has a big fan base there, but I just thought it was a shame.

“Harry always seems to be slightly pushed into the background unless he’s doing something sporty, like playing basketball or playing polo.”

It’s not the first time Meghan found herself critcised for overshadowing her husband, following the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, recently, Meghan faced backlash for the timing of her announcement that coincided with the Princess Diana Legacy Awards, a decision that was labeled as “beyond cruel” by royal biographer Angela Levin.

Levin, in a scathing assessment, suggested that Meghan’s actions were driven by a desire to remain in the spotlight, even at the expense of overshadowing an event deeply significant to her husband

“She took away Harry’s spotlight on the day of his mother’s charity. He loves his mother, he still feels they’re in connection with the heavens. He feels like Meghan has sort of replaced her,” Levin told GB News.

“He thinks Diana would have adored Meghan and they’d have been best friends. I don’t think that is quite right.

“I think to spoil that occasion for your husband and take the limelight from him is beyond cruel.”

While scrutiny surrounding Meghan’s actions has persisted, her behaviour does raise questions about whether she is indeed overshadowing Prince Harry, or simply endeavouring to forge her own distinct path and break away from the confines of royal tradition.
