The British Royal Family has been left deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Thomas Kingston, the spouse of Lady Gabriella Windsor, a member of the royal extended family.

Kingston, a 45-year-old British businessman and former project officer for the Iraqi Institute of Peace, married Lady Gabriella in 2019.

She is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Her mother is Baroness Marie Christine von Reibnitz, otherwise known as Princess Michael of Kent.

According to The Sun, a statement announcing Kingston’s death was released from Buckingham Palace earlier this week on behalf of Lady Gabriella and her family.

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother,” the statement said.

“Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”

It is reported that Kingston was found dead at a property in Gloucestershire on Sunday evening. The cause of death is currently unknown. While it is understood there was no suspicious third-party involvement, an inquest into his death will be held.

The statement observed that King Charles III and Queen Camilla had been informed of Kingston’s untimely passing and had offered their heartfelt condolences joining Prince and Princess Michael of Kent in grieving a much-loved family member.

“In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family,” the statement read.

The news of the shocking loss comes after a double whammy of health scares for the Royal Family. After being treated for an enlarged prostate, it was discovered that King Charles had a form of cancer.

Prince William has stepped up his royal duties while the King undergoes a challenging journey of cancer treatment.

At a similar time, Catherine, the Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery and has been absent from public duties since Christmas.

King Charles has been doing well despite his health issues and has admitted the public avalanche of support he has received over the past few weeks has “reduced him to tears” at times.

In a statement released from Kensington Palace yesterday, the Princess continues to do well despite Prince William’s abrupt withdrawal from a royal engagement leaving royal watchers intrigued about the royal couple’s well-being.
