King Charles urged to ‘never give up’ as he receives thousands of well wishes from the public

As King Charles continues his battle against cancer, the Monarch has taken a moment to go through the thousands of messages of support that have poured in since his diagnosis.

In a video posted to Instagram, the Monarch immersed himself in the sea of vibrant get well cards sent by devoted royal supporters while sharing that “kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement”.

Among the series of heartfelt messages one child urged the King to “never give up”.

“Be brave. Don’t push your limits. Get Well Soon,” they wrote.

Another card that caught the Monarch’s eye featured a picture of a dog wearing a cone.

“King Charles, at least you don’t have to wear a cone!” the message read.

“Chin up, chest out, remain positive and don’t let it get you down. Trust me, it works, but the main thing is family,” another well wisher wrote.

King Charles recently spoke of how touched he was by the overwhelming support he had received from the public following news of his diagnosis during a recent engagement with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

“I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards. Reduced me to tears most of the time,” Charles said.

The news of the Monarch’s health sent shockwaves globally when, following his three night stay in hospital for a procedure on a benign enlarged prostate, a separate issue was identified. The Palace later confirmed, through a statement, that subsequent tests revealed the presence of cancer, emphasising it’s unrelated to the previous prostate problem.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the statement read.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.

“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
