Rod Stewart and glamorous wife Penny Lancaster put on cosy display in Venice

Rod Stewart and his model wife Penny Lancaster were all smiles as they enjoyed a romantic getaway in Venice, Italy over the weekend.

Penny, 49, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a snap of the pair enjoying a gondola ride through the floating city. She captioned the post: “Afternoon tour #venicecanals.”

The former model was dressed for the occasion in a beautiful floral green slinky midi dress that featured lace detailing, while the Britsih rock singer, 75, kept things interesting in a patterned white button-up and matching shorts with bright yellow sneakers and socks.

Earlier in the day, Penny shared a photo of Rod walking through the many churches and cathedrals in Venice, while she posed on a pile of books at the entrance of the city’s most famous book story Libreria Acqua Alta in another picture.

It comes just a few months after the stylish couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in isolation. The happy couple didn’t let lockdown get in the way of their celebrations as Penny shared a sweet image of the pair enjoying a takeaway meal and a glass of wine in the back of their car in Hyde Park, London.

For the occasion, Penny wore a flowing patterned dress, while Rod wore white trousers, a floral shirt and a blue sports jacket, coordinated with a fedora hat.

“Celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary with a trip into London for a take out in Hyde Park,” she captioned the post.

Rod also put up a picture from the memorable occasion, writing a sweet tribute to his “beautiful wife”. He captioned the post: “Cheers to my beautiful wife, 13-in-a-row #weddinganniversary.”

The couple have been married since 2007 and share two beautiful boys together, Aiden Patrick Stewart, 9, and Alastair Wallace Stewart, 14. They regularly speak openly about their love for one another, with Rod previously gushing over his model wife, saying he’s “stunned” she has kept him around for so long.

Speaking to The Mirror in an exclusive interview in May this year, the singer-songwriter said: “They have not invented the words for how I feel about her. She is everything.”
