Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster celebrate 13th wedding anniversary in style

It seems that celebrity marriages rarely tend to stand the test of time but Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster have proven that they’re the real deal. Rod and Penny looked happier than ever as they celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

The happy couple didn’t let lockdown get in the way of their celebrations as Penny, 49, shared a sweet image of the pair enjoying a takeaway meal and a glass of wine in the back of their car in Hyde Park, London. For the occasion, Penny wore a flowing patterned dress, while Rod, 75, wore white trousers, a floral shirt and a blue sports jacket, coordinated with a fedora hat.

“Celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary with a trip into London for a take out in Hyde Park,” Penny captioned the post.

Rod also put up a picture from the memorable occasion, writing a sweet tribute to his “beautiful wife”. He captioned the post: “Cheers to my beautiful wife, 13-in-a-row #weddinganniversary.”

Many fans were quick to wish the couple a happy anniversary, with one writing: “Happy Anniversary! Beautiful couple!” Another added: “Both of you look fab, happy anniversary.” While a third wrote: “Happy anniversary guys. You two are gorgeous together.”

The couple has been married since 2007 and share two beautiful boys together, Aiden Patrick Stewart, 9, and Alastair Wallace Stewart, 12. They regularly speak openly about their love for one another, with Rod previously gushing over his model wife, saying he’s “stunned” she has kept him around for so long.

Speaking to The Mirror in an exclusive interview in May this year, the singer-songwriter claimed after going through two failed marriages he thought to himself, “instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house”.

But that all changed when Penny came along. The model and television personality made him believe in love once more and the couple quickly developed a loving and lasting relationship. And there’s no denying Rod is absolutely head-over-heels for his wife.

“They have not invented the words for how I feel about her,” he told The Mirror. “She is everything”.

The 75-year-old said Penny has helped him learn what makes a long marriage, with the answer being, good manners. Rod told The Mirror before his wife came along he was a bit of a “scallywag” but, she transformed him into a better man.
