Sir Rod Stewart is known for his daring style, and has been seen in everything from fur to leather in the past.
He unveiled some bizarre footwear when he went to see the Pope. Stewart, 73, and wife Penny Lancaster, 47, attended a general audience with Pope Francis, at St Peter’s Square in the Vatican on Wednesday, and the British singer was rocking his usual sense of style.
He wore a floral shirt and a clashing jacket for the occasion, which he paired with Gucci floral fur-lined loafers, which retail for US$940 (A$1,242, £700).
The ‘Maggie May’ singer’s trademark golden locks were styled to perfection. He completed the ensemble with Ray Ban sunglasses.
Meanwhile, Lancaster stunned in a simple black dress for the occasion, which she paired with matching black ballet flats. The loved-up couple were in high-spirits as they waited for the Pope to arrive.

And it looks like he’s passed on his flamboyant fashion sense to his young son, who loves to dress up and play in women’s clothes.
In 2016, Stewart revealed his seven-year-old son Aiden loves “dressing up like a lady” in his mother’s clothes. “The little one, I don’t know yet. He likes dressing up as a lady. So we don’t know which way he’s thinking,” he told The Interview People.
