The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her impeccable sense of style and she regularly steps out in stunning dresses and show-stopping accessories, however it was the duchess’ hair that captured people’s attention on Tuesday as she debuted a brand new look.

Catherine joined husband Prince William in the Irish capital city of Dublin yesterday as the couple touched down for a three-day royal visit, which marks their first official tour of the country. And the duchess sported a new look for the occasion, as she showed off a much shorter hairstyle.

The duchess’ brown locks appeared to have been cut to just below her shoulder, however it was much longer last week when she carried out a sports-themed engagement at London Stadium in support of charity SportsAid.

Paying tribute to the Emerald Isle, Catherine opted for a stunning green printed dress for day one of the tour, which echoed the style of the 1980s with its puff sleeves, funnel neckline and pleated front. The duchess paired the eye-catching frock with a dark green double-breasted coat and a matching pair of suede stilettos.

The mother-of-three accessorised the outfit with a bright green LK Bennett clutch bag, an oversized headband – which has become her signature look – and a pair of dazzling diamond stud earrings.

After landing at Dublin Airport, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had tea with the President of Ireland and his wife Mrs Higgins, along with their Bernese Mountain Dog Bród. Later in the day the royal couple laid a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance, before metting Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, and his partner Matthew Barrett, at Dublin’s Government Buildings.

According to a statement released on the official Kensington Royal Instagram account, over the next two days William and Catherine will also visit County Meath, County Kildare and Galway, and spend time with people working in the creative arts, business and charity sectors.

The couple finished their day on Tuesday with a trip to the Guinness Storehouse where they sipped on pints of the black stuff at the brewery’s Gravity Bar.

Catherine opted for yet another green ensemble for the evening’s festivities, as she stepped out in a stunning metallic dress which featured a ruffle hem and mid-length sleeves. Wile Prince William looked smart in his signature navy blue suit.

“Many of you this evening who demonstrate the breadth of our connections across the arts, sports, uniformed services, education and research, and charity sectors,” the duke said at the event. “We value it as we do your friendship and are committed to strengthening it further.”
