British ‘it’ girl Twiggy rocks pink ensemble, proves she’s still got it

She was discovered 50 years ago and is one of the most iconic models in history, and at 68 years old Twiggy is proof that age is just a number.

On Wednesday, the former doe-eyed mod girl, whose real name is Lesley Lawson, turned heads in a bright pink ensemble at a special screening of Michael Caine’s new documentary My Generation in London. 

The ’60s ‘it’ girl, wore a vibrant pink blazer, paired with a white ruffled blouse and grey pants with white panels on each side. Always one to make a statement, Twiggy completed the ensemble with matching pink sneakers, silver accessories and shaded sunnies. 

Twiggy will be making an appearance in My Generation. The documentary is a six-year-long passion project of Caine’s, documenting the birth of London’s pop culture scene. His documentary looks at the ins and outs of the era and features interviews with a few of his famous pals, including Sir Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey, Twiggy and mini-skirt designer Mary Quant.

The original supermodel is also the face of British brand Marks and Spencer and most recently, she has been launched back into the spotlight for a new campaign for the fashion label.

In an interview with the fashion branch of the brand, Twiggy said, “I wanted to do fashion design when I was at school – talk about coming full circle!

“Clothes should be comfortable and fun, but also effortless. Don’t get hung up on your age – it’s about attitude.”

Twiggy became an icon of the ’60s after just four years of modelling — but her fame didn’t end there. In 1971, film director Ken Russell cast her in the musical, The Boy Friend, which won her two Golden Globes and paved the way for her career on broadway.
