She hasn’t been an official member of the royal family for more than 20 years, but Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson still turns heads wherever she goes and she once again stole the show when she stepped out in a fabulous gown recently.

The Duchess of York, 59, put on a stunning display in a figure-hugging black gown as she attended the annual Unicef gala in Dallas, Texas on Friday.

Sarah looked incredible in the floor-length gown, which featured three-quarter length sleeves and a stunning bateau neckline. The mother-of-two wore her luscious red locks in soft waves and accessorised with simple silver jewellery.

Sarah, the former wife of Prince Andrew, attended the event to show her support for the fundraising gala dinner, which aims to raise money for disadvantaged children.

This isn’t the only good cause she supports. On Monday, the duchess showed her support for World Cancer Day by sharing a touching post on social media about the deadly disease. She also wrote about her pride at being a supporter of the Teenage Cancer Trust both in the UK and the US.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “On World Cancer Day, I am thinking of friends and family who have been affected by this terrible disease. I have been a proud supporter of @teenage_cancer and its founders Dr Adrian and Myrna Whiteson since 1990 and @teencanceramerica and now Beatrice and Eugenie are too. Together we can help more people beat cancer.”

Along with the caption, Sarah uploaded a gorgeous photo of herself and her two daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, along with the Teenage Cancer Trust founders.

Many royal fans were quick to praise Sarah’s efforts, with one writing: “You are a difference maker in this world, Sarah Ferguson. Love reading all your posts. Keep up the great work! Continue being the great woman you are!”

Another added: “So inspired and proud of you all!”

While a third wrote: “Really lovely to see your daughters getting involved in such a very worthy cause.”

Sarah’s glamorous outing comes after she revealed some of the big plans and goals she wants to achieve this year. She took to her social media pages on New Year’s Eve with a previously unseen photograph of herself from a few years back. In that photograph, a young Fergie could be seen beaming at the camera from the inside of a helicopter.

She explained that one of her personal plans for 2019 is to renew her helicopter licence. She also told her followers that she spoke to The Telegraph in the United Kingdom about her Street Child charity and the latest Count Me In campaign.

Street Child is a charity that focuses on providing education, child protection and livelihood support to millions of children and families worldwide who don’t have it. Since 2008, the charity has helped more than 200,000 children go to school, while more than 15,000 families have been provided with assistance when it comes to setting up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term.

While Sarah is a founding patron of the organisation, Eugenie and Beatrice are global ambassadors.
