When it comes to fashion, Dame Helen Mirren rarely puts a foot wrong, no matter whether she is wearing a stunning gown at the world premiere of her latest movie, or stepping out in more casual attire on a rare day off.

The 74-year-old didn’t disappoint with her latest style choice as she stepped out in New York City on Friday, donning a stunning skirt and blouse combo for the occasion. While she’s been spotted out and about in more glamorous looks of late, the smart-casual outfit was perfect for the occasion.

Helen looked sensational as she posed on the red carpet at SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s event, The Business: ‘Helen Mirren and Hawk Koch Discuss The Magic of Movies’ wearing a chic boho-style lace blouse, with long, sheer sleeves. She paired the classic top with a sensational tulle skirt, decorated with a striking floral pattern.

She completed the gorgeous ensemble with a simple lick of pink lipstick and a pair of blue suede shoes, while her cropped platinum hair seemed to have been recently cut into sweeping bangs. During the event, which was held at The Robin Williams Center, Helen chatted with American movie producer about her illustrious career.

Last week, the veteran actress stepped out on numerous occasions as she fervently promoted her brand new movie The Good Liar which features Sir Ian McKellen. The acting legends play love-interests in the psychological thriller, which marks the first time they have ever starred alongside one another on the big screen.

On Thursday last week, the superstar put on a dazzling display in an eye-catching yellow gown as she attended the world premiere of the movie in NYC, alongside several of her co-stars. Helen stole the show in the vibrant floor-length gown which featured a plunging V neckline, cinched waist and long sleeves. But it was the gown’s long train that commanded the most attention as it trailed elegantly along the floor behind her as she walked the carpet.

A statement usually reserved for brides, the train appeared to be detachable from the dress, as a knee-high split could be seen running up the back of the figure hugging dress, revealing a pair of matching yellow stiletto heels beneath the skirt. It wasn’t just her shoes that Helen matched either though as the star’s clutch bag also stuck to the bright colour theme.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Searle and features McKellen as ex conman Roy Courtnay, as he hatches a plan to steal Mirren’s character Betty’s fortune by creating a fake online dating profile to make her fall in love with him.

The trailer shows them coming face to face on their first date, before Mirren’s character slowly falls for him – admitting he has eased her loneliness and made her feel happy again, despite desperate warnings from her loved ones. It’s a chilling echo of a trend that has sadly seen many people across the world fall victim to real life online dating nightmares over recent years.

In the trailer, Carter’s character is heard asking McKellen’s villain: “Is that why you think you do it? For the money? It’s the game. It’s the adrenaline rush.” To which McKellen responds: “What if it is?” Mirren is later heard saying to someone off camera: “You’re becoming a very good liar.

The Good Liar is set to be released in Australia cinemas on January 23, 2020.
