Princess Mary, 46, channelled iconic former US First Lady and fashion favourite, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, in a retro pink ensemble as she attended the opening of parliament in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

The Hobart-born Danish royal opted for a printed fit-and-flare skirt in pink and black for the event at Christiansborg Castle, which she teamed with a black Jackie O-inspired pillbox hat.

She completed the ensemble with a smart double-breasted jacket, along with a matching clutch and stiletto heels, while she wore her brunette locks in an elegant up-do, and kept her makeup simple and elegant with a subtle pink lip and light blush.

Mary was accompanied by her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, as well as her brother-in-law Prince Joachim and lookalike sister-in-law Princess Marie for the opening of Folketing, the Danish national parliament.

Marie, 42, also looked stylish in a cream and navy coat, which she wore over a blue floral dress. She completed her chic look with a navy pillbox hat, along with coordinating heels and gloves.

They were also joined by Queen Margrethe, who opted for a royal blue ensemble which she paired with simple grey accessories, and her sister, Princess Benedikte, who stepped out in an orange fitted dress which she teamed with a brown coat and matching hat.

Princess Mary recently stepped out in a gorgeous 1970s-inspired jumpsuit as she handed out prizes to honour the best of Denmark’s architects, designers and upcoming talent.

She completed the retro look with a pair of drop earrings and a silver bangle, while she wore her dark brown locks in loose curls, which hung over her shoulders, and kept her make-up simple and elegant with a subtle lip and light dusting of blusher.

The fashionable member of royalty, who married the heir to the Danish throne in 2004, was even tasked with handing out the top award for ‘Designer of the Year’ which went to designer and architect Lars Road.
