It has been two years since Michael Bublé put his singing career on hold after his young son Noah was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, but the Canadian crooner has announced he will be heading down under in just a matter of months.

Announcing his first Australian show in more than four years, the Haven’t Met You Yet singer revealed he is set to headline a star studded concert at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on October 5. It will be the last show at the stadium before it closes for three years for reconstruction.

Revealing the news, the 42-year-old told Sydney Confidential: “I’m going to go back to doing what I was made to do, I can’t wait. It’s pure joy.

“There’s no fear. I live with a perspective I just didn’t have before. I’m going to come back to a world that needs love and romance and laughter more than it has in a long time. I’m going to be a conduit for that, I hope. Not that I can I can fix things, but if I can be even a little Batman Band-aid and be part of the healing process — great.”

As well as his return to performing, the Home singer recently shared the happy news that he and wife Luisana Lopilato are preparing to welcome their first daughter. The couple who tied the knot in 2011 already have sons Noah, four, and Elias, two, together.

He made the announcement on Irish radio station Today FM earlier this month, when he said: “I’ve got my first little girl coming in three weeks, and I’ve actually never said that before in public. I’ve got a daughter coming.”

It was revealed that the couple, who met while filming the music video for Michael’s single Haven’t Met You Yet in 2009, were expecting their third child together back in February after Luisana’s actor brother Dario seemingly let the cat out of the bag.

His return to the stage comes after the Bublé family went through their biggest battle to date. Following their son, Noah’s diagnosis with rare liver cancer hepatoblastoma, forcing Michael to step down from his career and hectic touring schedule to care for his sick little boy. After a gruelling few months of chemotherapy and extensive hospital visits, Michael released a statement to suggest that the four-year-old was recovering well.

“We are so grateful to report that our son Noah has been progressing well during his treatment and the doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy,” he said in a statement to Us Weekly in February last year. “He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words.”
