There’s nothing better than a Baby Boomer embracing her style and owning it with confidence. That’s exactly what Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep has done with her latest outfit choice.
The 69-year-old actress was a very special guest at the Tribeca TV Festival at Spring Studios in New York City recently and used her time on the red carpet to show off her latest fashion. The Into the Woods star proved once again that being fashionable isn’t always about fancy gowns and extravagant outfits.
Instead, the three-time Oscar winner wowed in a simple yet sophisticated look most women over 60 would be able to pull together from clothes in their wardrobe. Meryl opted for a stylish and shiny black shirt for the event.
Going for an all-black look for the third season premiere of Tracey Ullman’s Show, she perfectly matched a pair of black Capri pants with her shirt. The star also wore a pair of black open-toe shoes.
Proving that accessories are a fantastic way of jazzing up any outfit, Meryl wore a unique and chunky necklace that really made her outfit pop. She also wore a smart pair of glasses and a simple pair of gold hoop earrings. She also wore her luscious blond locks down for her night out and opted for natural make-up.
She was also joined on the red carpet by star Tracey Ullman, who has appeared in a number of TV shows and movies over the years.
Her outfit choice also proved a hit, opting for a striking red coat and black high heels. Both women were spotted sharing a laugh together on the red carpet, before speaking inside to guests at the event.
It has been a busy year for Meryl, who continues to work hard as she approaches 70. In addition to appearing in hit musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!, Meryl has spent most of the year appearing in scenes alongside Nicole Kidman for the upcoming series of Big Little Lies.
She’s also set to appear in Mary Poppins Returns later this year and will also star as Aunt March in Little Women in 2019. She has also been named as one of the stars to appear in The Laundromat, although details about her role in that film are yet to be released.
