Blue carpet glamour: Cher and Meryl Streep stun at Mammia Mia premiere

They may be some of the eldest members of the highly anticipated Mammia Mia sequel but Cher and Meryl Streep still looked as glamorous as ever as they stepped out for the premiere in London on Monday.

Seen walking the Blue Carpet with fellow co-stars including, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan, the two stood out from the crowd in their stunning outfits.

While there has been questions whether Meryl will appear in the hit Mammia Mia! Here We Go Again as she didn’t feature in the trailer, the 69-year-old star happily posed for snaps in a beautiful blue frock.

The flowy mid-length number fell elegantly at the actress’s sides, fitted in at the waist with a thick black and silver belt.

Going with a specific colour scheme, the Hollywood star paired the outfit with small black heels, large silver hoop earrings and black sunglasses, which she took off during the event.

Not going overboard with the makeup, Meryl opted for a soft pink lip and a hint of blush, while her blonde locks were kept down with a slight wave.

Making a bold appearance, Cher wowed crowds at the Eventim Apollo in an all black ensemble featuring wide leg pants, a long back coat and a racy sheer bralet.

Showing off her impressive fashion sense, the 72-year-old chose to accessorise with a leafy necklace, with her wild, long, black curls completing the look.

As to not take away from the striking outfit, the popular singer also went for a more natural makeup look with a pink lip, some bronzer and a soft brown eye with beautiful long eyelashes.

The pop icon recently admitted she was “terrified” when she stepped on to the set for the first time after joining the cast.

Speaking during a press conference, the Believe hitmaker – who will play Ruby Sheridan, the mother of Meryl Streep’s character Donna – said she felt “really nervous” about taking on the role because the existing cast members were already close.

“I was terrified! Because everyone had been together and also my character wasn’t very liked, by anybody. I was really nervous but all was great, and you [Amanda Seyfried] were adorable,” Cher exclaimed.
