As Prince Archie, the eldest child of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, marked his fifth birthday on Monday, May 6 the absence of any official celebration or acknowledgment from the Royal Family has left many puzzled.

While social media platforms brimmed with well-wishes for the young prince, the Royal Family maintained a resounding silence, leaving many to ponder if the rift between Harry and Meghan and The Firm played a role in the apparent snub.

Offering insight into the situation, Danielle Stacey, Hello!’s online royal correspondent, provided some clarity amidst the confusion

“In recent years and certainly since King Charles III’s reign began in September 2022, we have only seen public messages from the Royal Family’s social media accounts for working members of the Royal Family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal,” Stacey said.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, and no longer carry out royal duties.

“Similarly, the palace doesn’t typically share messages on the likes of Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall’s birthdays nor their children’s special days.”

Although the Royal Family maintained radio silence when it came to birthday wishes for little Archie, across the world messages poured in from adoring royal enthusiasts.

As Prince Archie marks this significant milestone surrounded by love and adoration, his birthday celebration may have been quiet within palace walls, but the outpouring of love from around the world has undoubtedly made it a day to remember.
