After weeks of speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding her health and well-being, Princess Catherine may shed light on her health journey when she resumes public engagements.
Close friends of the Royal Family suggest that Catherine, who underwent surgery at the London Clinic on January 16, might use these engagements as a platform to discuss her recovery.
While details of her condition have been kept under wraps, it’s been reported that the Princess is not expected to return to official duties until after Easter. However, insiders reveal that once she does, there’s a possibility she’ll open up about her health struggles.
“They are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements,” a source told The Sunday Times.
“If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.”
Despite mounting speculation from royal enthusiasts, friends made it clear that Catherine and Prince William will only disclose details when they feel comfortable
“They will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready. I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed,” a friend of the couple reportedly said.
Very little has been said about Catherine’s health woes since Kensington Palace announced her admission to the private London Clinic on Tuesday, January 16 where she remained for 14 days before returning home to recover.
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” Kensington Palace revealed at the time of her hospitalisation.
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.
“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.
“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
With Catherine’s return to public life on the horizon, anticipation mounts not only for her resumption of duties but also for the potential for her to share her health journey with an adoring public.
