Despite former US President Donald Trump’s own claims of a close bond with Queen Elizabeth, the late Monarch reportedly found him “very rude”, according to a new biography.

In Craig Brown’s new book, A Voyage Around The Queen, it’s revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth, who sadly passed away on September 8, 2022, hosted Trump on two occasions during her reign and was reportedly irritated by his apparent disinterest during their meetings.

“Over the course of her reign, the Queen entertained many controversial foreign leaders, including Bashar al-Assad, Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin, Donald Trump, Emperor Hirohito and Vladimir Putin,” Brown explained in his book.

“She may not have found their company convivial; upon their departure, she may even have voiced a discreet word of disapproval.

“A few weeks after (former) president Trump’s visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him ‘very rude’: she particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting.”

While the Queen was reportedly not impressed with his behaviour, Trump himself held a much different opinion regarding their interactions.

“For his part, Donald Trump was confident he had been her favourite guest ever,” Brown explained.

Trump had previously claimed that he enjoyed “a great relationship with the Queen” during an interview with Fox News.

“We were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years,” he said.

Trump wasn’t the only one to put the Queen offside, a particular move by Meghan Markle on her wedding day reportedly also left the late Queen less than impressed.

The wedding day drama started when Meghan’s father announced he would not be attending his daughter’s nuptials due to health issues, leaving her with nobody to walk her down the aisle.

Fortunately, Meghan’s future father-in-law, a then Prince Charles, stepped up and took on the important role. While Charles was more than happy to step in, Queen Elizabeth was not overly supportive of the move, according to royal biographer Ingrid Seward.

“The Queen was not comfortable with the Prince of Wales standing in for Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, and was similarly concerned about a 96-year-old Prince Philip walking down the aisle without a stick, having had a hip replacement only five weeks before,” Seward wrote in her book My Mother and I.

Meghan’s wedding day decision was among the first of many that have not been well received by the Royal Family and the broader public.
