The public image of the beloved Royal Family graces newsstands around the world and dominates television screens regularly. However, fans rarely get a glimpse of the personal side of their favourite royals. Until now.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold has peeled back the curtain offering rare insight into the private side of Princess Anne, revealing that the beloved royal is as genuine behind closed doors as she is in public.
“She’s exactly what you see in public, there’s not really a different side to her,” he explained, as per the Daily Express.
“Obviously, everyone likes her, she’s very much like her mother and her father with very similar traits to both of them.
“She’s a hard worker, and is a very down-to-earth, normal person – she didn’t even want her children to have Royal titles.
“She drives herself from A-B and goes out and about on her own. She’s as modern a Royal as you can get, and behind closed doors, she’s just like everyone else. She’s a real family person and loves her animals.”
In addition to being just as genuine on the world stage as she is behind palace doors, the Princess Royal is also the most industrious member of her family and one of the most hardworking royals globally.
The hardest-working member of the Royal Family was recently revealed with Princess Anne securing the title for the fourth consecutive year having completed 217 engagements in 2024.
The numbers were tallied by Reboot Online after analysing the Court Circular, as per GB News.
Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, King Charles followed closely behind his sister in second place with 186 engagements throughout the year.
Surprisingly, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, claimed third place with 126 royal engagements in 2024. Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, took fourth place with 124 engagements, while his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, came in fifth with 108.
Queen Camilla completed 95 engagements, taking sixth place.
The Prince and Princess of Wales understandably carried out fewer engagements given Catherine’s battle with cancer. With Prince William’s focus on family, he completed 71 engagements, while Catherine managed 11 as she prioritised her health.
