Mike Tindall has shared a touching birthday tribute to his wife Zara, calling her “the better Tindall” and revealing how he treated her for the big day.
Zara, who is the only daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, recently celebrated her 44th birthday on Thursday however Buckingham Palace did not mark the occasion as the horse rider as she is not technically a working royal like her cousins.
Instead the 46 year old sports star shared a very sweet message on his personal Instagram account and uploaded a photo of the couple to mark the milestone.
In the snap, Mike faces adoringly at Zara who matches his stance while wearing a stunning lavender maxi dress.
“Happy Birthday to the better Tindall. She’s even let me play golf on her birthday!” Tindall wrote.

Fans of the couple were deeply moved by the adoring post and were quick to give their birthday wishes to Zara.
“Happy birthday Zara 🎂You are always beautiful.❤️” One commented.
“Gorgeous woman inside and out! Happy birthday Zara 💜” One added.
“Nice to see these two love each other so much,” another commented.
“Wishing the happiest birthday to the beautiful Zara! I hope you’ll have a great day together.”
“You lucky man! Happy birthday to the better half x.”
Later on he joked about the golf game while chatting to host Kate Garraway while appearing on an episode of Good Morning Britain, saying he truly “spoiled” his wife by bringing her to the world-class Belfry Golf Course.
“She got to hang out with 70 people she only sees once a year, it was exactly what she wanted for her birthday.”
While the Tindalls are known for their cheeky sense of humour, this latest post shows a more sentimental side to the couple which Mike has talked about before.
In a heartfelt chat on Good Morning Britain the retired rugby great spoke about Lucas, aged three who is the pair’s youngest child and only son.
During the interview, Tindall admitted his son’s middle name Philip held a very special meaning for both parents as it’s a dedication to both Zara’s grandfather, the late Duke of Edinburgh and Mike’s father, who is living with Parkinson’s disease.
