King Charles and Queen Consort Camill have warmed the hearts of many across the nation after taking the time to meet a youngster during their most recent royal visit to York.

It is a standard protocol that royals generally avoid long physical contact with members of the public, however, the King and Queen Consort have decided to make an exception in this instance to walk hand-in-hand with a 5-year-old boy named Jason Tweedie-Long.

Prior to their arrival in York, the royal couple had received a message from York Council that the young boy had written to them explaining his concern that he wouldn’t be able to clearly see Their Majesties from the public viewing area because of his visual impairment.

Clearly moved by the young boy’s message, the Council reached out to Buckingham Palace asking for assistance– and they clearly pulled through.

Upon their arrival in York, Charles and Camilla met with Jason who proceeded to join them for their walkabout.

Dressed in a bright, rainbow coat, Jason was pictured beaming as he walked alongside the royals.

Other royal fans were touched by the gesture and took to Twitter to express how “happy” they were to see Jason have this truly one-of-a-kind experience.

This wouldn’t be the first time the royal couple has had an adorable interaction with a child during a royal engagement.

Last month, during a trip to East London the King and Queen Consort were met with a swarm of primary school children all eager to chat with the King.

His Majesty can be heard asking the children about their upcoming school break when a little girl asks “how old are you, King Charles?”

The 73-year-old laughed and said, “you can have a guess. Have a guess.”

To which one kid enthusiastically replied with “96!”

Luckily, Charles took the conversation in good humour and offered a giggle in response.

As of late, more and more children across the UK have had the privilege of meeting senior members of the Royal Family.

Just the other day the Princess of Wales was seen sharing an adorable interaction with a “chatty” toddler during her visit to the Colham Manor Children’s Centre in West London.

The week before that, Prince William was upstaged by a determined little girl in a princess dress.
